Role Requirements
Construction Expertise: Possess a robust understanding of construction processes, safety protocols, scheduling, and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality in every aspect of the project.
Preconstruction Meetings: Attend preconstruction meetings, actively contributing ideas and questions to strategize project kickoff dates and set the tone for success.
On-site Leadership: Lead on-site construction teams, trades, and suppliers, taking charge of daily responsibilities and activities to ensure the project stays on track and on schedule.
Client Communication: Maintain daily/weekly communication with clients, providing updates on site achievements, discussing decisions needed for next steps, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Project Coordination: Coordinate trades and suppliers to meet or exceed project timelines, attending both on-site and office production meetings to address and resolve any issues.
Team Guidance: Provide leadership and guidance to site teams, setting and achieving daily/weekly goals and adhering to best practices.
Drawing and Specification Review: Review project drawings and specifications, identifying and addressing any modifications as needed.
Adaptability: Demonstrate the ability to work daily in a dynamic environment, leveraging professional construction skills to achieve project goals.
Inspections and Compliance: Coordinate and arrange all site inspections within critical timeframes, ensuring compliance with building codes and quality control requirements.
Health and Safety: Implement and uphold Whitehall’s Health and Safety Program on site, updating job log reports weekly and leading by example to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Client Satisfaction: Ensure the project's end result exceeds client expectations.
Skills & Qualifications:
Organizational and Leadership Skills: Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills, collaborating with project management, clients, architects, trades, and designers.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to interpret and review project drawings, specifications, permits, and blueprints.
Detail Orientation: Strong attention to detail with knowledge of quality craftsmanship.
Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills to address challenges effectively.
Project Management: Experience with project online correspondence, cloud-based project management software, and technology tools (cell phone/laptop/iPad).
Trade Coordination: Ability to organize onsite trade timing, materials deliveries, and labor schedules, overseeing multiple activities simultaneously.
Team Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, bringing new goals to the table and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and the Ontario Health and Safety Act.
Education and Experience: Post-secondary education in the construction industry or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years in residential construction).
Driver's License: Valid class G driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
Technology Skills: Working knowledge of internet applications such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
